Australian ants are generally considered a ‘nuisance’ pest. They seldom destroy foodstuffs, carry no diseases and, although some can deliver a painful bite, it is not usually harmful.

Colonies of the larger species of meat ant and bull ant are easily found and destroyed. Mechanical or pesticidal destruction of nests should be the main aim. It is almost impossible to prevent foraging ants entering a building and, although you might make a valiant attempt to reduce the available of foods and liquids, you are unlikely to eliminate ants in this way. When nests cannot be found, baits and barrier spraying around the bulding are the best option.

Different ant species may require different treatments but, following a thorough inspection and assessment, the qualified technicians at Envirotechnics will know exactly what to do.

How can I help control ants?

If ants invade your kitchen, try and find how they are getting in and block the hole with an appropriate filler. Spraying ant trails will possibly give some short term releif but they will be back.

If you want to seriously reduce the number of ants and ants nests on your property, you will need expert advice and a dedicated program of treatments from an experienced and knowledgeable company such as Envirotechnics.
